Grace and Peace from Baker Presbyterian Church!

Welcome to Baker Presbyterian Church.

Baker Presbyterian Church is a wonderful place to become part of a community of people who seek to follow Jesus Christ, caring for one another and being part of a faithful community that feels like an extended family. Our members come from Baker, Zachary, Slaughter, St. Francisville, Walker, Baton Rouge, St. Amant, and beyond. We'd love to have you worship with us and/or visit our church.

On September 2, 2008, the roof of our hundred year old church was peeled back by the force of high winds in the wake of Hurricane Gustav. Gustav's rains did a lot of interior damage. On Sept. 7, we moved our worship service to the gymnasium in our education building, where we worshipped for seven months. After services on March 29, 2009, we moved back in our newly restored sanctuary!

See "before" and "after" photos below.

Restoration was a very big job! Special thanks to the Rebuilding Committee, whose members were Barbara Foote (Chair), Bill Gaines, Marie Cotaya, Cathi Pourciau, Sylvia Moore and CJ Rushing. Parrish Foote and Alton Moore served as regular consultants, and Jason Norris, who grew up in this church, also consulted with us.

We really appreciate the gifts of financial, hands-on, and moral support received in response to our loss, and we are grateful to God to be back in "our pretty little church."

On the navigation links above we have a calendar of events, activities and meetings. If you'd like to have an email sent out to you each time an event is added, please email us with your email address and calendar preferences.
